Choosing the Right Sized Storage Unit for your car is easy. A 10x15 unit will hold a compact car. 10x20 fits a full-size car and some small trailers. And finally, a 10x30 unit will comfortably house trailers and RVs.
Prepping Your Car for Storage is the next step after you choose a unit. Here are some general tips:
- Fill your gas tank. Gasoline will absorb the moisture that would otherwise rust your tank.
- Change the oil, filter, brake fluid and coolant to keep these parts from corroding or oxidizing.
- Disconnect the battery. Cars drain battery even when the engine is off, and you don't want to have to replace the battery once you retrieve your car from storage.
