The Customized Lease Agreement
Sparefoot offers listers the option of purchasing a lease agreement to protect their storage transaction. The lease was created by one of the most prestigious law firms in the country, specifically for person-to-person storage transactions. It is customized to the specifications and terms of your listing.
The lease can be purchased through your listing for $19 or for $9 if you already purchased it for a previous transaction on Sparefoot. However, the lister is only charged for the lease if and when he/she has found a qualified renter of their choice.

Additionally, your listing will feature the following seal informing potential renters that your space is backed by our professional lease agreement and that you are willing to legally bind the transaction.
Some notable security features of the lease agreement:
- Defines the term of lease
- Specifies how the landlord should be paid and on what day
- Enforces contractual liens for failed renter payments
- Defines the limited liability of the landlord
- Defines the landlord's right to enter the storage premises (for emergencies, etc.)
- Defines the applicability of the landlord's insurance to the renter's belongings
These features are only a small sampling from the Sparefoot lease. The full document is approximately eight pages in length and includes up to 29 protective clauses depending on whether you require a security deposit.
