We didn’t compete at the Winter Olympics in Russia, but SpareFoot did pick up some bronze bling recently.
The Amazing Customer Experience (ACE) Team at SpareFoot won the bronze award from the 2014 Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. SpareFoot’s very own Albert Hood (pictured above), a member of the ACE Team, brought home the bronze from the Stevie Awards banquet Feb. 21 in Las Vegas.
Hood said the award validates “all the changes we are making and have made to become a world-class customer service team.”
“We’ve worked really hard to try to be a place that is fun, high-energy and not crappy, like many micromanaged call centers,” Hood said. “Our department aspires to have the same name recognition as companies like Zappos and USAA. With this award, I think the team will be inspired to win the gold next year.”
This is the second Olympic-colored win we’ve scored this year. In January, we notched a gold-medal victory at the Austin Startup Games. Maybe a silver award is in our future somewhere?
In the Stevie Awards, SpareFoot’s was one of eight finalists for the Front-Line Customer Service Team of the Year in the “other service industries” category. Other finalists in this category included Wyndham Vacation Ownership and the United States Equestrian Federation. This was the first time that SpareFoot had entered the Stevie Awards.
Our first-ever Stevie Award
“The members of the ACE Team are absolutely thrilled to be named a bronze winner in this year’s Stevie Awards and are honored to see our names among those of companies and organizations that we respect and admire,” said Josh Lipton, leader of the ACE Team. “More important than that is the validation it gives our efforts to deliver the type of experience to our customers that we would wish for ourselves.”
FYI: SpareFoot is hiring more members for the ACE Team, which handles inquiries about self-storage rentals from customers across the country. To learn more about openings on the ACE Team, visit the jobs section of the SpareFoot website.
“We’ve built a team of people who exemplify the values of both SpareFoot and ACE on a daily basis,” Lipton said. “We invest countless hours as a team developing and nurturing a culture focused on transparency, failing quickly, never letting problems fester, hiring well and, of course, working hard and playing hard. We do all of this so our customers can benefit from interacting with people who truly love their work, their team and their mission.”
In the preliminary round of the Stevie Awards, nearly 130 judges around the world picked the finalists from among more than 1,500 nominations. After final voting by more than 100 judges, all of the finalists received gold, silver or bronze Stevie Awards.
