Spartan Investment Group, based in Golden, CO began an expansion (below) that will add about 31,700 square feet of climate-controlled storage and 12,940 square feet of non-climate-controlled storage at its FreeUp Storage facility in Huntsville, TX. That facility currently has 320 units covering 44,460 gross square feet. Completion is scheduled for late 2022.

In Delaware, the Milton Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5-1 in favor of a special permitted use for Peak Management LLC to operate a storage facility, called YourSpace Self Storage, on Route 16 between Mulberry and Union streets. A site-plan review is next. The project calls for two buildings and more than 100,000 square feet on 3 acres: a three-story main building and a one-story, 5,500-square-foot structure. Acorn Mini Storage is expanding its existing self-storage facility in Port Orange, FL. The company’s other Florida locations include Boca Raton, Palm Bay, Lakeland, Kissimmee, Miami and Cape Coral. Source: Digital Journal

The North Smithfield Planning Board unanimously approved the master plan for the proposed expansion of Storage Rentals of America’s facilities on Eddie Dowling Highway in Rhode Island. The company seeks to add a three-story building adjacent to its current structure. Next up is an appearance before the zoning department for special-use permits. The project also needs approval from the Water Protection Overlay District, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. Source: NRI Now
