Great price, confusing self-storage process due to new management

The price is the major selling point for this storage facility. Units are not clean upon arrival, facility is under new management and nobody was there when moving in. I was told by another tenant to just pick an open one and put a lock on it and that due to my online reservation, I would then just begin being charged monthly.
