Good concept, but somewhat lacking in maintenance
I definitely like the eco-friendly setup of the facility, and the front-end staff has been great on the few occasions that I've interacted with them. My biggest complaint in terms of design: The manual hallway-doors are a royal pain in the neck, as they are very cumbersome to negotiate with a full load (especially on the way in). The location is pretty good, although the entrance to/from the road is very narrow and increasingly precarious and traffic can be an issue; basically, don't try to go there during rush hour or a stupid baseball game. The pricing seems okay ... at least I got a decent deal initially, but with all the new storage places around, I'm thinking maybe I should shop and/or re-negotiate if I'm going to keep a unit going for a while longer (which I probably will for at least another few months). The initial free truck-rental was nice, although the truck has seen much better days, and I had to use my own dolly because theirs had flat tires (which didn't seem to bother them). Maintenance has been lacking, especially lately: Lights take a LONG time to get fixed. Loose items in the hallways (=garbage) never seem to get picked up. The vehicle gate has been stuck open on several occasions. The sliding door sometimes doesn't close properly, and the light above it has been flickering and making noise for a while now. The dollies are also getting increasingly dirtier and wobblier. I'm pretty sure a number of bums actually live in some of these storage units, which makes for ... interesting ... smells sometimes, and the bathrooms seem in permanent disarray. All this makes for a rather less-secure and -clean environment than I would prefer. Some of this stuff may not be entirely under management's control, but I think most of it is, yet they either don't care or don't want to spend the money to address it; either way, I haven't been too impressed lately and couldn't honestly recommend this facility, at least not without caution.
