A frustrating place
I booked online for a first month free and then $50 a month rate. When we showed up the guy gave us a list of available units and told us to choose one. When we showed up the next week to sign the lease they removed the free month and changed the rate to $77 a month because the one we chose was a "premium" unit, though the guy never said anything about that when we chose the unit. They also blindside you with their insurance requirement. Insurance is required, though they never tell you that. I could have gotten it online for $10 a month if I would have known, but now I have to pay $24 a month. I felt like they were just trying to get more money out of us.
Manager is rude and unprofessional!
My wife and I reserved a storage unit at this facility. I spoke to the manager, Dustin, on the phone thinking I could make payment and complete the lease, etc on the phone. Dustin advised that I had to come to the facility before 6:00 p.m. if we wanted to move things in after 6:00. As I was short on time, I asked my wife if she could go by and sign the lease, make the payment and get our code to get into the facility. When she arrived Dustin told her she needed to purchase insurance from him. She asked why we hadn't been informed of this at the time of our reservation or during my call with him. Dustin only responded that we needed insurance or he wouldn't rent to us. My wife called and I confirmed for her that our Homeowners policy covered personal property stored off premises. Dustin then told her that he needed to see a copy of the policy to confirm coverage. I agreed to have my agent fax him a copy of the Declaration Page but while waiting for the FAX my wife told Dustin that it seemed a poor practice to not tell renters that a copy of their policy was required to secure the rental and that his initial insistence that we had to buy insurance from him for $17 per month seemed dishonest. Dustin then told my wife that "if you play nice I might still rent to you." When she objected to his tone he said, "If you're not going to play nice you can leave." He then ordered her out of the office and locked the office door behind her. His attitude from the beginning was extremely poor, his tactic to sell insurance were unethical and his behavior toward my wife rose to the level of 'harassment'! Never have had such a negative experience at any business in Littleton! Hope the owner understands whats at stake when his staff loses business. Went a few blocks away and found a better facility, more professional staff and less money per month!

Facilities owned by this company are relatively the same and would receive a favorable review. However management can be all the difference! On that note, take your business to other facilities rather than This one in Southpark.
