The Ups/Downs of Storage Units
I have rented a unit here for a few months now. There are all kinds of hidden fees added to the rent, such as renters insurance (most renter or home owners policy will provide coverage for a rented storage unit). If you want your monthly bill mailed to you it costs extra. The rental process took forever, I think I was there about an hour. Further, they have a list of open units - which apparently need to be rented in a certain order. The units I was being shown had huge pipes which would prevent some of my items from fitting in the unit (too tall). I told the woman I didn't want the large pipes in my unit due to the items and she said she had to rent the units in a certain order and she can only show/offer me these 2 units. That is ridiculous! I also asked for one closer to the elevator because of some knee issues - but again, I get a choice of 2 units. The security is EXCELLENT - codes to get everwhere and cameras everywhere. Large drive in garages for loading/unloading your items. But be warned - you will get a notice increasing the rent after a few months - it cites the rising cost of doing business. I would still recommend this facility as it is convenient and offers indoor storage - not many options in the West Metro Area.
