It was nice but took a little while trying to share the elevator with other people moving in at the same time. Staff was helpful and nice. Wish there was a bathroom on site but not a big deal. The only issue we had was sketchy people almost transient looking coming and going but it looks like they may have been tenants. other than that it was fine.
Portland Storage Too is a historic landmark that functions well.
When the movers and I arrived, my mover said that the 10' x 10' unit I had reserved would be too small; so the very accommodating agent (named James, who knew his job very well and was extremely pleasant to work with) came up with the next largest available unit. All went very well, despite the antiquity of the building (a landmark former birdseed factory!) and its freight elevator. Of course the monthly rental was higher, but that was expected. James gave me the senior discount too (I didn't have to ask).
Helpful receptionist, loved the free moving truck and the place looks great and was a great value.
I had plenty of space and felt the pricing was good considering other units cost structure in PDX area. The available rolling carts really helped the process of ferrying my stuff up to the 2nd floor. The old elevator requires some muscle to open and close doors and can at times be a bit of a pain when others are there...but adds to the charm and certainly is large enough to make the process quite simple. I do NOT like the area this facility is located in - each time I've been there I've been panhandled and the last time I got approached as I had a full armload of boxes and wasn't too pleased to be asked for money (endemic problem to Portland unfortunately) and then given a raft of crap because I couldn't help a brotha out. Day time access is pretty much the best and safest bet.
Overall experience was great. The gentlemen who assisted me was very professional and helpful.
