Don't rent from this facility
Never rent from here. The owner is truly awful. The weekend that we moved into our unit I also rented two moving trucks from her and an auto transport. She actually yelled at me because I questioned the ball that she placed on my vehicle. I wasn't rude and was taken aback by her outburst. I informed her as a customer that I had every right to inquire about the mechanics of the device and its abilities. After all they're my vehicles both towing and being towed. That was only the beginning. I didn't intend on keeping our HHG in storage for so long, but 2 transfers overseas in a year has made it so. We're are hoping to fly back this fall just to move everything out of her storage facility and rent somewhere else. I've emailed her on two separate occasions asking to have our rent charged to the card on file, they didn't do it. Both times charged us late fees and sent threatening emails. She kept emailing saying that we were 45 days past due and we weren't. I had our bank send her all charges showing her that we were up to date. Ten emails later and a lot of frustration just trying to communicate with her we found that we owed $3.45. My husband and I were both at a loss trying to figure out what we owed. She just kept saying it was her right to cut the lock on our unit. Your current bill will show double the amount due..you have to look closely to see she's already processing next months amount. I'm no stranger to long term storage facilities, but this one is so not worth the aggravation. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else!
Hi Ms. Hughes,My name is Cindy and I have just taken over as General Manager. You might not be aware but the prior manager is out on emergency medical leave and is very ill. I am trying to get up to speed with your account and the correspondence that have transpired. Luckily the staff has kept good notes and we have emailed with you so all is in writing.First, let me say that I hate that you are frustrated and feel we havenât dealt with you properly. I will correct that going forward. The young lady you've been emailing with has been here a month and has stepped up to fill in while weâre trying to adjust to the sudden lose of our manager. She didn't realize that you don't mind paying all of the late fees every month. She certainly didnât intend on upsetting anyone. . She and I both apologize. The rental agreement that you signed explains that the rent is due on the 1st of every month. On the 3rd or 4th we try to call and remind you of the rent being late and that the late fee will be added in the next day or two, trying to help you avoid the fee. On the 5th the$10.00 late fee is added . At that time it is standard procedure to over lock the unit with our lock. The computer automatically denies access to the facility on the 7th. On the 15th another $20.00 late fee is added and at that point you are in default from the time the payment was due which is the first. If there is no communication or broken promises of payment at 36 days the lock is cut , the room is inventoried and an ad is ran in the local newspaper for 14 days which brings it to 50 days. The cost of the ad is added to the balance and the unit is auction the following Saturday. This procedure is followed for everyone. We never want to auction anyoneâs belongings. We try to do everything we can to work with someone to avoid that. We must have good communications for that to work. I understand you have moved a couple of times and I appreciate you updating your mailing address for us today. The telephone numbers we have for you are not working to get in touch with you. The first number goes straight to a voice mail box that has not been set up. The second number we have never gotten an answer at. It is never our intent to harass anyone. It is our desire to help you avoid late fees and the auction process. Believe me, we both loose if that happens. Can we please start fresh? If you have any questions or concerns, call me directly from now on. I donât want you to have to worry while youâre overseas. Letâs stay in touch and avoid misunderstandings.SincerelyCindy General Manager
