Two familiar faces from A&E’s reality TV show “Storage Wars” are entering the online auction business.

Husband-and-wife auctioneering team Dan and Laura Dotson say they’re adding online storage auctions to their website, AmericanAuctioneers.com. The online auctions, which will supplement their live-auction business, are set to launch this summer.

The Dotsons say online bidding will be open to anyone. Signing up for the online auctions will be free.

The couple, who hail from Southern California, recently made headlines for their involvement in an on-set scuffle with their least favorite “Storage Wars” co-star, Dave Hester.

“We would like to thank all of our loyal customers and fans for making American Auctioneers what it is today. We have really enjoyed meeting and working with you, and we’re looking forward to many more years together,” the Dotsons said in a news release announcing the online auctions.

James Grant, president and CEO of online auction website StorageTreasures.com, said online and in-person storage auctions have grown in popularity because of reality shows like “Storage Wars.”

“People see the treasures that they find within the units and, in turn, want to also find those treasures,” Grant said. “Although not every unit will have a Rembrandt or a Rolex, some do have items that are worth considerable money. As the saying goes, one man’s trash is another’s treasure.”
