Spring is in the air, and so are the diesel fumes of moving trucks across the country.

May is the traditional start of moving season, which is the busiest time of year to book movers, rent a truck, or find a self-storage unit. The warmer weather, longer days and end of the school year make the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day an ideal time for many families to relocate.

With moving season underway, SpareFoot conducted a survey to find which Americans are moving, why they are moving, and how they are choosing their new digs. The infographic below summarizes those findings, which come from a survey of 1,005 people over the age of 18.
