Hailing from Baytown, TX, SpareFoot account manager Brett, aka Breezy, has been making music for a couple of years now. He recently wrote and performed a SpareFoot rap for Austin Business Journal’s Best Places To Work awards, and of late he’s been slowing his beats down for the forthcoming R&B mixtape “Breezy Does It,” tentatively scheduled for an early 2013 release.

As an account manager, Brett works closely with our VP of Revenue to ensure clients’ performance numbers are up to par. Whether it’s adjusting our search algorithm, helping our storage facility clients improve their SpareFoot listings, or just helping clients understand how our AdNetwork tool works, Brett does everything in his power to move more tenants into our clients’ self-storage facilities.

Brett came to SpareFoot as an intern while attending the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business, then moved to join us full time upon graduation about a year and a half ago. His hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed, as Brett recently received the BigFoot Award, an accolade given out monthly for excellent performance.

When asked what he did last month that was particularly notable, the always modest singer/songwriter said, “I feel kind of bad. I guilted Chuck into giving me the award.” As legend has it, to make room for new hires, Brett gave up his sun-soaked corner office for a considerably less glamorous work area by the parking garage door. During the relocation process, he flippantly told Chuck that he deserved an award for such selflessness. Apparently, Brett’s joke, while tongue-in-cheek, did not fall on deaf ears.

We’re lucky to have Brett working so effectively to increase the number of SpareFoot bookings. And don’t worry, his new workspace is actually pretty sweet— his desk and hot pink exercise ball “chair” sit atop a rich antique rug. Just try not to trip over it when you come in through the parking garage.
