Julie Loffredi

SpareFoot got some time in the spotlight May 28 to share moving tips with viewers of NBC’s “Today” show.

“Today” anchors Al Roker and Tamron Hall visited with SpareFoot spokeswoman Julie Loffredi during a four-minute segment on live TV. On the show, Loffredi laid out common moving mistakes and how to avoid them.

“We’ve all heard about those moving scams, but the reality is there’s a lot of great, reputable companies out there,” Loffredi told Roker and Hall.

But to make sure you’re dealing with a reputable moving company, “you’ve got to do the homework,” Loffredi said. She suggested visiting the Better Business Bureau website and reading online reviews to make sure a moving company that you’re considering is trustworthy.

“Check out a company; see if they have complaints,” Loffredi said. “You want somebody legit.”

Late May kicks off the U.S. moving season, which ends around Labor Day. Roughly 40 percent of Americans who are moving use self-storage.

  1. It was a great segment but SpareFoot.com did not seem to get promoted as much as expected. Would have been nice if they had the SpareFoot logo in background and had that truck image behind Al Rocker be a PENSKE truck.
