Charlie “Winning” Sheen would be proud of us.
At SpareFoot, we really love to win. In January, we won the Austin Startup Games. Last year, we won recognition as the best place to work in the Austin area in two programs: one sponsored by the Austin Business Journal and the other by the Austin American-Statesman.
Now, we have another win to add to our virtual trophy case. In the 2014 Ragan’s PR Daily Awards program, SpareFoot picked up first place in the “Best Online Newsroom” category for The Storage Facilitator blog. SpareFoot oversees the blog, which is published on SelfStorage.com.
“This award is validation of SpareFoot’s commitment to producing news and information that benefits the storage industry,” said Brian Megless, leader of SpareFoot’s Marketing Team. “Our goal is for The Storage Facilitator to stand out as a trusted resource for owners, operators, managers and other self-storage professionals.”
‘Delivers What Users Need’
In the “Best Online Newsroom” category, The Storage Facilitator beat competitors such as adidas, Coca-Cola and Nissan Americas.
“The industry may not thrill,” PR Daily said in praising The Storage Facilitator, “but this newsroom covering the self-storage industry delivers what users need.”
PR Daily called The Storage Facilitator a “worthy winner” for offering a “valuable service” to the storage industry.
Created by SpareFoot, The Storage Facilitator “is designed to give real estate experts, facility managers, and anyone else interested in the self-storage industry a reliable outlet for interesting and informative news every day,” PR Daily said.
Ragan’s PR Daily Awards program recognizes outstanding PR and marketing efforts in the business, government and nonprofit sectors.
In the awards program, SpareFoot also snagged two honorable mentions: one for The SpareFoot Blog and the other for best op-ed piece.
