Wong Cubes LLC has purchased Aubin Lane Self Storage LLC for $1.25 million in Baton Rouge, LA. The facility is on Aubin Lane near the Cedarcrest Avenue I-12 overpass. Christopher DeCesare is the registered agent for the seller, Aubin Lane Self Storage LLC. Randy D. Wong is the registered agent for Wong Cubes. The Wong family group of restaurants includes Ichiban Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar plus a new site, Boru Ramen. Source: Business Report 

Andover Properties bought a four-facility portfolio of storage facilities, totaling 2,199 units and 429,169 rentable square feet in the Greater Houston Area in Texas. Dave Knobler and Charles LeClaire of Marcus & Millichap represented the sellers and found the buyer. Drive-Up Self Storage is the largest of the four assets with 156,252 rentable square feet, built in three phases between 1983 and 2003. It has a mix of climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled units. It also has RV and boat parking. The second asset is Great Spaces Storage, with 105,975 rentable square feet spread across 15 buildings at 28543 RM 2978 Road in Magnolia, TX. The third asset is Mini City Self Storage, with 112,200 rentable square feet, spread across 13 buildings. It has non-climate-controlled units and is located at 9000 Westpark Drive in Houston. JLL Capital Markets closed the sale of Woodland Self Storage, a 92,288-square-foot, 952-unit facility in Austin, TX, marketing the property on behalf of the seller, Endeavor Real Estate Group. Woodland is a climate-controlled facility built in 2019 along Interstate 35 and is 70% occupied. More than 8,600 new apartment units and 730 new single-family home sites are being added within a three-mile radius of Woodland. Managing Directors Steve Mellon and Brian Somoza, and directors Adam Roossien and Matthew Wheeler, served on the JLL team. Source: REJournalsToday

McKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services brokered the sale of a four-property, 883-unit self-storage portfolio in Cecil County, MD that sold to Boundary Ventures LLC for $18.8 million. The properties are known as the Cecil, Chesapeake, Elkton and Rogers self-storage facilities, They are located in the Elkton and Northeast sections of the county and total over 125,000 square feet of space. The buildings are:

804 E. Pulaski Highway in Elkton, with 20,425 square feet and 84 units

1089 Augustin Herman Highway in Elkton, with 39,350 square feet and 362 units 

1882 W. Pulaski Highway in North East, with 20,425 square feet of space and 149 units.

4 Coachman Drive in Elkton, with 53,115 square feet of space and 288 units (photo below)

Belrose Storage Group in Wayne, PA, a self-storage investment group, sold its Granite City Storage facility in Mount Airy, NC. It has 402 units and 53,986 NRSF. BSG increased the facility’s net operating income from $210,000 to nearly $300,000 in under 18 months. Source: MyChrsCo

Midcoast Properties Inc. announced the sale of Crooked Creek Boat & RV Storage at 518 Ebenezer Road in West Union SC. Michael Morrison of Midcoast represented the seller. A local development company bought the facility, which sits on 10.36 acres and has proposed adding climate-controlled units, drive-up units and enclosed parking.  Source: PR*Urgent 

Markus & Millichap brokered the sale of a four-part self-storage portfolio totaling 2,199 units spread across 429,169 NRSF in the Greater Houston Area. Two properties are in Houston, with one more each in Baytown and Magnolia. Dave Knobler and Charles LeClaire of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller, a Georgia-based partnership. U-Haul

U-Haul bought 4.66 acres of land at 1550 Arbor Way in Kaukauna, WI. The result will be U-Haul Moving & Storage of Fox Cities North, scheduled for completion in summer 2024. The four-story building will have more than 100,000 square feet, including climate-control options. It will have a retail showroom with services such as truck and trailer sharing, moving supplies and boxes, towing equipment, I-Box portable storage containers and more. It will be U-Haul’s 44th store in the state. Source: U-Haul

U-Haul bought the former Starpar Storage property at 4541 Tanglewood Drive in Sebring, FL, its first property in that city. U-Haul Moving & Storage of Sebring opened July 29 with 575 units and offers self-storage, track and trailer sharing, towing equipment, moving supplies and boxes, professional hitch installation and more. The property borders nearly 13 acres of land where U-Haul plans to add units and a warehouse. Source: PR Newswire 

Argus Self Storage Advisors

Stuart P. LaGroue Sr. and Bill Barnhill, the Gulf Coast region broker affiliates of Denver, CO-based Argus Self Storage Advisors, represented the seller of Chantilly Storage & Chantilly Place in Milton, Fl, which Public Storage bought on May 19, 2022. The facility has 76,200 gross square feet of  retail/office/restaurant space and 401 units of climate-controlled self-storage. Also, a certificate of occupancy for a 128-unit expansion has been issued. The commercial retail component has 18,500 square feet and was 100% occupied with nine commercial tenants at the time of sale.  Source: Argus Self Storage Advisors 

Argus’ team of Kim van Delinder and Larry Hayes of Hayes of Associates announced the closing of Flying D Mini Storage in Billings, MT. it has 102 units and 16,920 square feet on 4.248 acres.
