Storage Cap Holdings LP, which is related to Winter Garden, FL-based Store Space Self Storage, plans to build a large self-storage facility at 205 Anchor Road on 6.85 acres in Seminole County near Altamonte Springs, FL called Store Space – Altamonte. It would have a total of 92,600 square feet of storage space, including 35,000 in a one-story building with climate-controlled units plus 57,600 square feet of non-climate-controlled space in nine one-story buildings. Costich Engineering, Land Surveying & Landscape Architecture of Rochester, NY, produced the plans. Clearwater, FL-based HB Seminole LLC owns the land, buying it for $473,500 in January 2021. In Amherst in Upstate New York, landscape contractors Eric Bogart and Michael Sinatra plan to build a $2.5 million self-storage facility. The company would plan to build four single-story buildings with 164 units at 321 Commerce Drive, in an office and industrial park off Sweet Home Road. Two of the buildings will have 4,500 square feet and the other two will have 5,200. The projectsits on a 178-acre parcel on the south side of Commerce, between John Glenn and Woodridge drives. There will be 19,400 square feet of storage space. Source: The Buffalo News

Home Sweet Home, a moving company in Wainscott, East Hampton Town, NY, which has been operating from there since the mid-1960s, is finding challenges to its suggestion to change itself into a self-story facility with 443 units. The new owners say they won’t tear down the building and would add a mezzanine to hold more storage units. They also said they would re-shingle the building and update the septic system. Opponents are concerned that the building is adjacent to the proposed 70-acre Wainscott Commercial Center. That site seeks 50 new commercial lots. Source: The East Hampton Star

Texas-based developer Smartlock Self Storage requested a 12-month extension to buy the former Gordmans and J.C. Penney buildings on the south side of Kirksville, MO. Originally, Smartlock was going to complete the purchase by the end of June. The Kirksville Planning and Zoning Commission approved the extension of a special-use permit. Source: KTVO
