A former cattle pasture may become home to a three-story, 120,000-square-foot self-storage facility with retail space on 8.16 acres west of 30th Street East, south of 44th Avenue east and east of U.S. 301 in Bradenton, FL. The site would be next to Manatee Charter School, which opened in 2012. The property owners seek approval of the development plan with rezoning. In Gainesville, GA, West Ridge Storage LLC wants to build a two-story, 101,000-square-foot, climate-controlled building at 891 W. Ridge Road, behind the QuikTrip convenience store off of West Ridge and E.E. Butler Parkway/U.S. 129. It’s located next to I-985. An office building that was lifted and moved to 1615 Fields Blvd. in Greenfield, IN got approval from city planning officials to add 25 climate-controlled self-storage spaces at the location. RealAmerica, a developer based in Indianapolis, IN, has its eyes on turning 7 acres of undeveloped land near West Broadway’s intersection with CR 750N into self-storage and commercial space in McCordsville, IN. It would be next to Gardens on the Gateway Senior Apartments that’s being developed and the Grill restaurant. Life Storage, a 102,000-square-foot facility sought for the Hunter’s Ridge development to go up off Airport Road in Flagler County, FL (above), has drawn opposition from some residents – but also garnered six of seven votes in favor from the planning board. By a 4-3 vote, a zoning board rejected a self-storage facility at 142 Amboy Road in Marlboro, NJ. Developer Yankee Investments LLC seeks to build three one-story self-storage floors plus a single one-story flex space building for small businesses. Some board members wanted more restrictions on the self-storage area and a better picture of who might rent in the flex-use building.  The developer will need to revise its plan if it wants to try again. In Florida, the Lakeland City Commission rejected a zoning change that would have allowed Cogent Capital Management to build a 46-foot-tall, 102,675-square-foot mini warehouse/self-storage facility with outdoor RV storage on 4.33 acres. The land is on Harden Boulevard, north of the Grasslands entrance. Cogent will be able to resubmit the plan without going through the city’s planning process from the start. Source: lkldnow.com

In Indiana, Goshen City Council members unanimously rejected a request by HSN LLC and Abonmarche Consultants for a zoning change and preliminary site plan for the southeast corner of Ferndale Road and Willows Way that would have allowed for a self-storage facility.
