The Roll Up: DXD Capital completes new Las Vegas facility

DXD Capital finished development and opened a climate-controlled 991-unit facility at 7435 W. Sahara Ave. in Las Vegas, NV. DXD bought the 1.7-acre parcel in January 2021 through the DXD Self Storage Fund that it started in November 2020. Public Storage manages the facility. Arco Murray was the general contractor and Studio Level 1 designed it. DXD has 25-plus active self-storage investments and pipeline projects, including some in Las Vegas; Phoenix, AZ; Long Island, NY; and Maui, HI.

Strada CC Development LLC seeks to build a grocery store, self-storage facility and drive-through coffee shop on vacant land in Coconut Creek, FL. The company has asked the city of Coconut Creek to rezone land that’s located on the southwest corner of Coconut Creek Parkway and Lyons Road. The city’s Planning and Zoning Board is going to review the proposal and hold a public hearing about it. The property now has a Regions Bank, Walgreens and a three-story medical office. Bids have been submitted for a single-story, climate-controlled self-storage building on Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, TX. It will have approximately 43,810 square feet, a storage office of about 1,212 square feet and 12 one-story, non-climate-controlled buildings totaling about 56,730 square feet. The approximate overall total is 101,753 square feet. Its approximate cost is $8.75 million. Source: Builders Exchange

The Oro Valley Town Council voted unanimously to grant a conditional-use permit for the development of a 105,756-square-foot, 34-foot-tall Extra Space building with 534 units in Oro Valley, AZ. Centennial American Properties of Greenville, SC, is the applicant. The building would include a 4,000-square-foot retail/office space and sit on 2.53 acres inside the Miller Ranch development. SecureSpace Self Storage has opened a newly built facility, called SecureSpace Firestone, located on West Sweetwater Avenue in Surprise, AZ, south of City Center between the 60 and 303 freeways. The site has 144,535 NRSF of climate-controlled units in single-story buildings. The 25-acre facility also has 296 covered RV spaces and another 125 enclosed RV parking spaces. In Michigan, the Lansing City Council voted down Devon Self Storage’s proposal for a special land-use permit to transform the former Sam’s Club building on East Edgewood Boulevard into a self-storage facility. Source: Fox 47 News
