Real estate development firm DealPoint Merrill has hired Roger Burgin to manage the company’s self-storage platform. Burgin will oversee research, risk management and acquisitions.
Burgin was vice president of field operations at Irvine, CA-based Platinum Storage Group, a role he had held since 2009.
Los Angeles, CA-based DealPoint focuses on redeveloping big-box stores into self-storage facilities, in addition to acquiring existing facilities.
In December, Chief Investment Officer Sterling McGregor told The SpareFoot Storage Beat that the company was on track to add 325,000 square feet of self-storage space during the first quarter of 2015. The company had another 785,000 square feet in its pipeline.
In January, DealPoint launched an investment fund with a cap of $50 million.
NGKF Capital Markets
The Houston, TX-based self-storage group of NGKF Capital Markets has hired Taucha Hogue as senior financial analyst. Hogue will handle investment portfolio offerings, financial analysis, market research and property valuations.
Most recently, Hogue was a real estate portfolio manager at Shell Oil.
NGKF’s storage group, founded in 2013 by Kenneth Cox and Aaron Swerdlin, provides advisory services to the self-storage industry.
Investment Real Estate LLC
York, PA-based Investment Real Estate LLC has promoted Jess Dubbs to director of marketing. Dubbs was the executive assistant for President and CEO John Gilliland.
The company provides brokerage, construction and property management services for the self-storage industry.
Dubbs oversees the company’s marketing efforts and coordinates trade, community and facility events.
Erin Rogers was hired to fill Dubbs’ former position.
