Atlanta, GA-based Safeguard Self Storage bought a 167,557-square-foot self-storage facility in Hollywood, FL, for $18.83 million.

The facility, at 3090 Sherman St., is Safeguard’s 13th location in Florida. The seller was Sheridan Extra Closet, which operated the facility as Emerald Hills Extra Closet. American Storage Systems previously managed it.

The two-structure facility (pictured at top) was built in 1990 and 1998, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

W.P. Carey

W.P. Carey, a New York City, NY-based real estate REIT, bought Value Self Storage at University Square in Sarasota, FL, for $5.8 million.

Sarasota-based Rutledge Realty and Development Co. sold the facility. The 63,000-square-foot facility, at 3265 University Parkway, was built in 2001.

Compass Self Storage purchased the 45,000-square-foot facility at 55 Beekman Road in Manville, NJ, from JAG Properties LLC for an undisclosed amount.

The facility is Compass’ fourth location in New Jersey. The facility previously operated as Access Self Storage.

  • Forest Cove Exchange Properties LLC purchased the Space Savers Self Storage facility at 700 Industrial Parkway in Saraland, AL, for $3 million, according to local property records. Paulk Properties Saraland LLC sold the facility. The property now is managed by Devon Self Storage.
  • Crystal Lake Storage 18 LLC purchased the 58,100-square-foot facility at 7209 Teckler Blvd. in Crystal Lake, IL, for an undisclosed amount. The seller was A O Self Storage, which operated the facility as Next Door Self Storage. CubeSmart now runs the facility. The 579-unit facility was built in 1977 and expanded in 1985. It was renovated in 2014. Sean Delaney and Michael Mele of Marcus & Millichap arranged the deal.
  • A private investor bought the 52,015-square-foot self-storage facility at 8500 S. Hulen St. in Fort Worth, TX, for an undisclosed amount. The 424-unit facility, built in 2004, operated as Safe & Secure Self-Storage. Brandon Karr and Danny Cunningham of Marcus & Millichap arranged the deal.
  • A private investor acquired Danny’s Mini Warehouses at 14115 Louisiana 44 in Gonzales, LA, for $1.45 million. The 331-unit facility features 49,370 square feet. The property includes a 4,500-square-foot retail center.
