Reliant Real Estate Management is expected to start construction next month on a new self-storage facility on Vanderbilt Beach Road in North Naples, FL, the first development in the planned mixed-use project called Vanderbilt Commons. The facility (pictured above) will operate under the name Midgard Self Storage and open in November or December, according to the Naples Daily News.
All Aboard Storage plans to build a 60,000-square-foot storage facility on the 3.7 acre site at 70 N. Perrott Drive in Ormond Beach, FL. The company acquired the site recently for $2.3 million, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal. The former S.R. Perrott beverage distribution center is currently located on the site. When complete, the facility will be All Aboard’s 15th facility.
A group of Nashville, TN investors are planning to start construction on a $6 million self-storage facility in April, according to the Nashville Post. The group, Melrose Storage LLC, acquired the land at 700 and 702 Inverness Avenue in Berry Hill, TN for $1.5 million. The finished facility will span 85,000-square-feet.
Retired sprint car driver Tony Bruce is turning to a career in real estate development, starting with the construction of a new 400 to 450-unit self-storage facility at East 76th North and 129th E. Avenue in Owasso, OK. The project will operate under the name Safelock Mini Storage. The project obtained planning commission approval and will be considered by the local city council next, according to the Owasso Reporter.
Loren Willman, owner of Keep It Storage, is seeking approval for a 32,000-square-foot self-storage facility at the corner of Charles and Loma Rica drives in Grass Valley, CA. The facility plan calls for the construction of 12 individual storage buildings, according to The Union.
West Coast Self-Storage wants to build a four-story self-storage facility at 3310 Harbor SW in Seattle, WA. The operator is still in the process of providing documentation to the city, according to West Seattle Blog.
A group named Montello St. LLC is redeveloping the former Nashua Athletic Club at 595 W. Hollis Street in Nashua, NH into a self-storage facility. The existing building covers 24,000 square feet. The project obtained the necessary approvals earlier this month, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.
Boston-based Guggenheim Real Estate is redeveloping a vacant retail store called Building 19 at 1450 Boston-Providence Highway in Norwood, MA into a self-storage facility. The project is scheduled for completion by late spring, according to Wicked Local. Guggenheim purchased the property in September for $6 million, property records show.
Lake Forest, IL-based Metro Self Storage has obtain construction financing of $6.7 million from Associated Bank to build a 78,662-square-foot self-storage facility at 1340 Butterfield Road in Mundelein, IL. Metro purchased the 1-acre property last July for just over $1 million. The facility will offer 828 units.
A plan to build a 72,000-square-foot self-storage facility at Davis Boulevard and Bear Creek Parkway in Keller, TX was voted down by the local city council in a 4-2 vote. Council members voting against the project sided with residents who spoke out against the project last October, according to the Star-Telegram. The applicant for the project was named Masterplan Consultants.
