Dave Marzocchi has been hired as vice president of development at Orlando, FL-based Simply Self Storage. Marzocchi was previously senior vice president of construction at Public Storage from 2005 to 2015 where he oversaw the largest growth and renovation initiative undertaken by the company to date.
“David has as much experience in the construction of self-storage properties as anyone in the industry and we are excited that he is joining the Simply team,” said CEO Kurt O’Brien.
Kyle Schmutzler has been promoted to the role of executive vice president at Simply. Schmutzler was previously senior vice president and house counsel for Simply, joining the firm in 2004. During his tenure as senior vice president, Schmutzler handled legal and real estate related matters associated with more than $1 billion worth of self-storage transactions.
Simply also recently hired Roger Burgin as its vice president of business development, Brandon Dickens as vice president of development and Wylie Klyce as vice president of development.
Matthew Weckesser was recently promoted to the role of associate director in the Philadelphia, PA office of HFF. His primary role is to facilitate sales of investment self-storage properties on behalf of private clients. To date, Weckesser has been involved with the completion of $130 million in self-storage transactions.
Weckesser has been with the firm since July 2014 as a senior real estate analyst. Prior to that he was an associate at Marcus & Millichap in Philadelphia.
