Chile-based Red Megacentro recently acquired a 14.7 acre site at 7451 Riviera Boulevard in Miramar, FL for $10 million.
The company plans to build a 267,325-square-foot mixed-use project that will feature a 59,364-square-foot self-storage facility. The project will also include office and warehouse space. The company operates self-storage facilities in the United States under the Megacenter brand name.
Dallas-based Provident Realty Advisors are hoping to build a 150,000-square-foot self-storage facility on the 0.6 acre parcel at the northeast corner of Eighth Avenue South and Drexel Street in Nashville, TN. The Tennessean reports that Provident has the property under contract, which includes the defunct Nashville Center Stage music venue. The parcel traded hands last year for $2.6 million.
Storage of America has completed the first phase of redevelopment of the Port Huron Factory Shops, a strip mall at 1661 Range Road in Kimball Township, MI, into a heated self-storage facility. The storage company said they plan to develop up to 2,000 units on the site, according to The Times Herald.
Public Storage is wrapping up construction of a more than 3,000 unit self-storage facility at 16700 Red Hill Avenue in Irvine, CA. The 255,978-square-foot facility is the company’s second-largest and sits on 10 acres. The first phase opened in April, a second phase opened in June and the final phase is scheduled to conclude by the end of July. Public Storage has opened 32 newly constructed facilities so far this year.
