Self-storage REIT Extra Space Storage paid $7.3 million for a storage facility in Raleigh, NC, that it already was managing.

The seller, Waheel Storage LLC, bought the 96,000-square-foot warehouse for $2.7 million and converted it into a storage facility in 2012. The facility is at 2220 Capital Blvd.

Metro Self Storage

Metro Storage picked up three more facilities in the metro Philadelphia area. The company now has six facilities in the Pennsylvania.

Metro Storage bought the three facilities, totaling more than 259,000 square feet, from Storage King USA. Purchase prices weren’t available.

The acquisitions are:

  • A 606-unit facility at 3952 N. Providence Road in Newtown Square, PA.
  • A 658-unit facility at 4440 E. Bristol Road in Trevose, PA.
  • A 680-unit facility at 1354 Hook Road in Sharon Hill, PA.

This is one of three Pennsylvania facilities that Metro Storage bought.

“These are three exceptional stores,” said Blair Nagel, CEO of Metro Storage. “The addition of these properties will enable us to further leverage the Metro brand in the Philadelphia area.”

Metro Storage operates the Metro Self Storage brand.

Stor-U-Self 

Cambridge, MA-based development and investment firm RJ Kelly Co. bought a pair of facilities in New Hampshire for $6.4 million. The firm’s facilities operate under the Stor-U-Self brand.

The facilities are at 220 Kingston Road in Danville, NH, and 14 Route 125 in Kingston, NH. Combined, they have 825 units.

The company now owns nine facilities in New Hampshire, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Big Jim Storage

Storage operator Big Jim Storage recently added a fifth facility to its portfolio in the Sarasota, FL, area.

Big Jim Storage bought a facility at 757 Apex Road in Sarasota for $1.3 million. The seller was Select Self Storage Holding Co. LLC.

US Storage Centers

Westport Tucson Self Storage, a joint venture between Westport Properties and Irvine, CA-based US Storage Centers, bought two facilities in Tucson, AZ, for $4.7 million.

Westport Tucson Self Storage now owns this facility in Tucson, AZ.

A facility at 4115 E. Speedway Blvd. sold for $2.4 million, and a facility at 2825 N. First Ave. sold for $2.3 million. The facilities previously operated under the Lock-It-Lockers brand.

The facilities, totaling more than 900 units, were built in the 1970s. US Storage Centers operates more than 75 facilities in 12 states.

Ample Storage

Ample Storage, an operator with more than 50 facilities in North Carolina and Virginia, bought a facility at 1107 Great Falls Court in Knightdale, NC, for $3.9 million. CP Harris Properties LLC was the seller.

Herriman Self Storage & Moving

Herriman Self Storage & Moving bought a 65,000-square-foot facility at 5128 W. 126000 South in Herriman, UT, for $3.1 million. The 331-unit facility was built in 2003.

The company also owns a facility in nearby Orem, UT.
