Richard Schontz (photo) has joined commercial real estate firm HFF as managing director in its Philadelphia office.
Schontz handles self-storage investment deals nationwide. Before joining HFF, Schontz had been a senior associate at commercial real estate firm Marcus & Millichap since 2007. During his career, he has brokered more than $121 million worth of commercial real estate transactions.
Janus International Group
Roc Hughes has been hired as vice president of international sales at Janus International Group, a maker of roll-up doors for self-storage facilities and other buildings. Hughes previously worked at DBCI, a Georgia-based manufacturer of roll-up doors and other building components.
Hughes is working from Janus’ headquarters in Temple, GA, as well from a new office in Peterlee, England, where Janus bought a building manufacturer in October. Hughes is responsible for generating sales in Europe, Latin America and other international markets.
This is Hughes’ second stint at Janus; he was national sales manager from 2003 to 2006.
Sperry Van Ness
David Laney has joined commercial real estate firm Sperry Van Ness as an associate broker on the self-storage team. Laney previously was a managing member of RealStar Commercial Real Estate.
Laney has more than 16 years of commercial real estate experience; he has completed more than $100 million worth of deals in Arizona and New Mexico.
