Wisconsin-based Benchmark Secured Storage of Hartland LLC is ready to build a 47,000 square-foot self-storage facility in Hartland, WI near Milwaukee.
Managing members Doug Hafemann and Aaron Kahle are building the facility to meet an unmet market need, according to BizTimes. Their company is raising $1.2 million from investors to construct the facility according to an SEC filing. Most of those funds have been raised already, including the partners’ contribution. First Bank Financial Centre is providing additional financing.
Construction on the 399-unit facility 840 Rose Drive is scheduled to start this month with completion expected in spring 2018.

Value Store It is seeking to develop a self-storage facility at 10900 SW 186th Street in Miami, FL. The company acquired the former W.W. Grainger Company industrial site in June for $3.5 million. Urstadt Biddle Properties plans to build a 120,000-square-foot self-storage facility next to a shopping complex it owns on Sidney Street in Stratford, CT. The Greenwich-based company is under contract to buy the land, pending approval of the project Stratford town officials. Developer Wayne O’Connell obtained a required design permit to proceed with the development of a 369-unit facility at 1890 Pueblo Avenue in Napa, CA. The facility, estimated to cost more than $1 million, is expected to be managed by Extra Space Storage. The facility will feature nine single-story buildings spanning 44,000 square feet. Town Real Estate Enterprises LLC, an affiliate of Pittsburgh-based Kossman Development Co. is seeking approval to convert part of a vacant strip mall into a 26,300-square-foot self-storage facility at 12250 Frankstown Road in Pittsburgh.
