A self-storage facility will be joining The Ravaudage Complex in Winter Park, FL.

Frost Weaver and Josh Koerner of Weaver Realty Group, who are Argus Self Storage Sales Network broker affiliates for North, Central and South Florida, handled the sale. The 1.48-acre site sold for $3.55 million. CubeSmart will manage the 97,000 square feet of self-storage.

The Ravaudage Complex, which is being developed by the Sydgan Corp., is described as Winter Park’s “largest mixed-use development site of 73 acres, and could be the largest urban infill project proposed along Florida’s new commuter rail system.”

The Savannah (GA) City Council will vote Oct. 26 on whether or not to approve a zoning change to commercial-neighborhood for a single-story, self-storage facility on a former landfill in the Bacon Park neighborhood. Property owners Sherwin and Brian Robin hope to develop the facility on a 9.3-acre parcel at 2201 Beaumont Drive. The City Council wants to determine if the city would be held liable if harmful materials are found during a cleanup. Source: Savannah Now

Bee Safe Storage and Wine Cellar of Greensboro, NC, plans to build new facilities in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. In Charlotte, Bee Safe Storage plans a five-story, 105,000-square-foot facility on 1.25 acres near the Blue Line’s New Bern Station. It will include 3,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor. In Winston-Salem, Bee Safe Storage will build a facility at 10 S. Broad St. Bee Safe Storage is operating five facilities in the state. Source: News & Record

A new self-storage facility is coming to Belleville, NJ, as part of a mixed-use project that includes a pharmacy at 11 Franklin Ave. Redeveloper LLC and Tulfra Real Estate is handling the 18.7-acre lot next to the Clara Maass Medical Center. The four-story self-storage facility will have 25,000 square feet. Source: The Real Deal

Boxed Up Self Storage will be part of a 100,000-square-foot repurposed building –- formerly home to a K-Mart store — in Loves Park, IL. First Midwest Group is running the project and is talking to retailers that are interested in moving in at the site, which is at the intersection of Forest Hills and East Riverside Boulevard. United Development Co. will knock down two 10,000-square-foot buildings in North Dallas, TX, and replace them with a 60,000-square-foot storage facility, in partnership with Lone Star Self Storage. Demolition is planned for early 2018, with the storage site to open in the fall. Westwood, NJ, is the latest addition to The Hampshire Cos. list of properties managed by Extra Space Storage, which now numbers 37.
