An 80,000-square-foot self-storage facility is coming to Hialeah, FL, as part of East 41, a mixed-use project that will include 15,900 square feet of retail on the ground floor and 413 residential units on a 6-acre site.
Property owner J.R. Realty Corp., led by David Small, is under contract to sell the development site to 1100 E. 41st Street LLC, which is led by Rolando Delgado, a Miami investor. East 41 will go on the site that has a 150,350-square-foot industrial complex built in 1956. Source: The Real Deal

It will have 1,000-plus units in 102,814 square feet spread among 13 one-story buildings, located at 101 Industrial Parkway and on the east side of the Tractor Supply store. CubeSmart has ambitious plans for Baton Rouge, LA, where developers are buying properties for self-storage facilities that will be managed by the Malvern, PA-based REIT. Development work has begun on four new locations in the capital city, plus one in Prairieville. The company also plans to develop at least five more self-storage facilities in the city. Another CubeSmart facility is planned in Gonzales, at the former Lone Star Steakhouse on O’Neal Lane, on Highland Road near Ruffino’s Restaurant, and possible sites are being considered in Zachary and Denham Springs. Morehead St. in FreeMoreWest and will include four stories of office space above ground-floor retail and the self-storage facility. Lock Up Self Storage has chosen Gates Construction to build its new facility at 2295 U.S. 41 E. in Naples, FL. The project will have two pieces: a three-story, 86,642-square-foot building and a one-story, 4,464-square-foot structure. Together, they will house 736 units. Bellomy & Co. of Austin, TX, brokered the sale of a self-storage development site in Austin to TD Storage of Greenville, SC. The purchase price was not disclosed. The 1.3-acre site is at Interstate 35 and Teri Road. TD Storage plans to build a four-story building with 67,300 square feet and 669 units, starting in February and finishing by year-end. Bellomy represented both the seller, Liberty Storage Austin South LLC, and the buyer.

StorQuest Self Storage opened its fourth Reno, NV, site at 9250 Gateway Drive in South Meadows. Located off US 580 in South Reno, it will have 460 units and 40,445 square feet.

AG Self Storage, owned by the Lazar family of Charlotte, NC, will open a new self-storage facility in Johnson, NC, this month. AG Self Storage began building the facility on Route 15 in early October. The company will work with the Johnson Beautification Committee to paint murals on one or two of the blank end walls, with “artwork that reflects the charter of Johnson,” Stowe Today wrote.
