Lake Forest, IL-based Metro Self Storage has boosted its presence in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market with the purchase of a four-facility portfolio.

The company bought all four locations of similarly named Metro Mini & RV Storage. The facilities are in the suburbs of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Mound and Orono.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

The newly acquired facilities join Metro’s only other Minnesota facility, which is in Maple Grove. The company said it will open a facility in Blaine, another Twin Cities suburb, during the second quarter of 2015.

“We’ve been in the Minneapolis market with our Maple Grove store for a few years now and welcome this opportunity to expand our presence,” Matthew Nagel, chairman and co-owner of Metro Storage, said in a news release. “The addition of the Metro Mini stores as well as the Blaine facility fit in well with our current business model and future growth plans.”

The newly purchased portfolio covers 208,000 square feet and features 1,500 storage units. The facilities also offer 450 RV parking spaces.

Here are the addresses for the four newly acquired facilities:

  • 6200 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington
  • 6851 Cloud Drive, Eden Prairie
  • 5300 Shoreline Drive, Mound
  • 2725 W. Wayzata Blvd., Orono

Metro Storage operates more than 80 facilities in 11 states.
