U-Haul now offers a retail and self-storage facility at 732 Old Hickory Blvd., in a former Kmart store in Jackson, TN. U-Haul Moving & Storage at Old Hickory plans to build 800 indoor climate-controlled units. The 91,772-square-foot building had been empty since 2017.  Source: newKerala.com 

Moratoriums

In Minnesota, the Coon Rapids City Council repealed its moratorium on building self-storage facilities by a vote of 5-2. The moratorium had been renewed in August for another six months. It applied to new outdoor facilities.  Source: ABC Newspapers

The Bainbridge Island City Council in Washington state put a six-month moratorium on storage unit facilities. It applies self-storage facilities in business/industrial and neighborhood center zoning districts. A proposed facility on Day Road thus has been delayed. Source: Kitsap Sun
