More RV and boat storage is coming to PremieRVehicle Storage in Marana, AZ. Jeff Gordon of Eagle Commercial Realty Services in Phoenix, AZ, handled the Jan. 8 sale of 4.75-plus acres of development land to PremieRVehicle, which currently has 465 covered spaces and plans to add an unknown number of new ones. Construction is expected to finish by year-end, Gordon said. He is the Arizona broker affiliate of Argus Self Storage Advisors, which is based in Denver, CO.
A $9 million redevelopment project that will include a My Space self-storage facility and retail will replace the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseville, MI. It will be demolished later this year or in early 2021. The Roseville City Council unanimously approved a conditional rezoning for a 116,700-square-foot storage facility at the corner of Gratiot Avenue and Utica Road. The project will attempt to preserve the church’s bell tower or otherwise build a replica. The self-storage structure will have both three-story and single-story areas. The project also calls for a 7,000-square-foot retail center or restaurant. My Space also recently opened a self-storage facility at Gratiot and Stephens Road in nearby Eastpointe. U-Haul soon will have a retail and self-storage facility after buying a former Kmart store of 143,485 square feet at 1180 Walnut Bottom Road in Carlisle, PA. U-Haul Moving & Storage of Walnut Bottom Road is operating in a temporary showroom for now. There will be about 65,000 square feet of indoor self-storage fully operational by spring 2020. A 57,000-square-foot self-storage facility may be coming to a former Kmart parking lot at 7530 S. Anthony Blvd. in Fort Wayne, IN. There would be 371 units spread around eight new buildings, all located in the parking lot in front of an Extra Space Storage facility. The Parkway Lanes bowling alley in Allentown, PA, which opened in 1993, is going to be replaced by a self-storage facility. StorHouse at Paxton Street bought it for $1.96 million and will call the new business StorHouse Self Storage-Lehigh Street. Abe Atiyeh’s Parkway Ventures LLC was the seller. Staley Point Capital, based in Century City, LA, hopes to knock down a 21,000-square-foot light manufacturing complex in South Los Angeles and replace it with a 109,000-square-foot self-storage facility. Staley purchased the complex, at West 25th Street and Broadway, for $7.35 million last month. The complex is located in an Opportunity Zone. Staley is comprised of Kevin Staley and his son, Eric. Connolly Brothers Inc. has finished building a six-story, 130,000-square-foot self-storage facility at 1901 Revere Beach Parkway in Everett, MA for developer Jumbo Capital Management LLC. It has more than 1,200 temperature-controlled units. Connolly now has built three self-storage facilities in the Greater Boston area since 2015 and has two more in progress. The newly developed property was sold at certificate of occupancy. The five-story building has opened, and it has 97,450 square feet and 1,160 climate-controlled units. Barron Collier Co. and Metro Commercial Development Group broke ground on Founders Square in Naples, FL. The 55-acre mixed-use development will include a 110,000-square-foot self-storage facility, to be built by Atlanta-based Davis Group. Founders Square also will include The Pointe, which will have restaurants, and other service and retail tenants; The Haldeman, a 400-unit multifamily complex; and a 35,000-square-foot medical office building.
