LSC Development LLC opened a new Extra Space Storage at 4400 S. Western Ave. in downtown Oklahoma City, OK at the intersection of Western Avenue and SW 44th Street. The site is part of a major redevelopment that includes a Walmart Neighborhood Market, Vasa Fitness, 7-Eleven convenience/gas station, Starbucks, BancFirst and Allegiance Federal Credit Union. The project is an adaptive redevelopment of a former stand-alone 1960s-era Sears retail store that now has 103,648 NRSF of 100 percent climate-controlled units in various sizes. Groundwork Ltd. designed the facility. Cowen Construction handled construction, and Williams, Box, Forshee & Bullard. P.C. helped obtain permits. Extra Space Storage will manage the property. LSC Development is based in Barrington, IL.

SecureSpace Self Storage opened a new self-storage facility, SecureSpace Signal Hill at 3177 California Ave. in Long Beach, CA. It offers 139,772 square feet and 100 percent climate-controlled space. It also has 20 covered RV parking spaces. The dense population area has 285,000 people within three miles. It recently purchased an Inland Empire medical office that it plans to demolish and replace with a four-story self-storage facility.
