I was shown a rather dilapidated unit...
I was shown a rather dilapidated unit that had a cinder block wall and evidence of water damage on the walls, and in the ceiling. This was in the old section of building K.
I declined to rent that unit and was willing to look at a slightly larger one in better shape with better climate control, but if I had not been in a hurry to get a space I probably would have not gotten anything at all. I don't like the feeling that this was a bait and switch to get me to rent a more expensive unit, even if that was not the case.
If there are units in such a bad state, they should be repaired and all evidence of damage removed. Mold, water stains, old cardboard adhered to the cinderblock wall...these do not inspire confidence.
That being said, the representative who helped me was very pleasant and helpful, explained the policies and pricing very comprehensively, and I am happy to say that I had a very good experience with her.
