The Roll Up: Menards approved for new storage project in Wisconsin

The town board voted all in favor to approve a conditional use permit for two 24/7 Menards self-storage facilities on June 22 in Sheboygan, WI. The project is along Vanguard Drive and is based on conditions that were presented in the Plan Commission recommendation. The company, primarily an operator of home improvement stores in the Midwest, also must agree not to develop self-storage facilities on a company-owned lot 6. Menards operates storage facilities in nearby Milwaukee, Baraboo and Eau Claire.

The Poverni Sheikh Group, based in Baltimore, MD, in early June won approval from the Bristol Township Planning Commission to build a three-story storage facility at 6801 Bristol Pike in Levittown, PA. In addition, the Bristol Township Planning Commission approved a new three-story storage facility and two replacement warehouses coming to Bristol Township. The property is home to Keith’s Auto, which will be demolished. Source: Philly.burbs.com

A new self-storage facility will be coming to Farmington, CT. The Farmington Plan & Zoning Commission voted 4-2 in favor of a zone change application that allows for putting up a new operation. Thus the zoning was changed from residential to commercial. Bulwark LLC’s plan seeks to convert lots 8120 and 8122 Colt Highway (Route 6). Proposed is a four-story building with 79,200 square feet spread across 700 units. Source: Patch.com

Some residents in New Milford, CT oppose a proposal to build six self-storage and warehouse buildings on an 11.44-acre site at 160 Sunny Valley Road. Sunval LLC owns the property. The plan calls for a 30,000-square-foot multistory building with an office area and a loading area; two 10,000-square-foot buildings and two 8,450-square-foot, one-story storage buildings. Another proposal is to put up a 68,600-square-foot warehouse in the southern half of the site. Source: CT Insider

The Zoning Board in Glassboro, NJ has delayed a review of a large self-storage facility until late July. Vision 214 High QOZB Inc. of Matawan wants to build a 115,542-square-foot, three-story building at 214 E. High St. (Route 322). Vision needs four variances from local zoning rules before it files its construction plan.

In Maine, the China Planning Board members set June 27 public hearings on two applications for self-storage buildings on Route 3. One applicant, Chris Harris, plans a 28-unit building at 623 Route 3, beside Central Church. The other applicant, Lucas Adams, proposes a structure with 26 units. It’s on the lot between Hanson and Horseback roads. China currently has three operating self-storage facilities. Source: The Town Line

In New Jersey, the Brick Township Zoning Board of Adjustment said no to a property owner’s request to build a nine-structure, 175-unt complex of single-story self-storage buildings. It would have gone up on an open swath of land that’s between two residential streets, at 345 Drum Point Road. Source: Brick | Shorebeat

In Southwest Florida, the Collier County Board of Commissioners approved an amendment that allows 130,000 square feet of indoor storage plus 100,000 square feet of commercial area to be part of the Winchester property (above). It would be part of the Randall Curve area. Source: Gulf Shore Business

The city council of Glendale, AZ may adopt an ordinance to approve rezoning for the proposed Thompson Thrift Storage as part of a 24-acre project called 101 & Northern Avenue at the southeast corner of Northern and 99th avenues. Thompson Thrift Retail Group is the developer. Source: Daily Independent

Talonvest Capital Inc., based in Irvine, CA, along with its client Madison Capital, closed a $14.1 million loan to build a single-story self-storage site at the southwest corner of Wabash Avenue and Naples Avenue in Redlands, CA. It’s next to two recently delivered RV/boat storage sites. At completion it will have 373 climate-controlled units and 461 drive-up units totaling 114,752 NRSF.
