SecureSpace Self Storage purchased an existing self-storage property in Blue Bell, PA, which SecureSpace previously managed. SecureSpace Blue Bell is its name and it’s located in a Philadelphia suburb. The three-story facility at 1950 Skippack Pike offers 78,097 square feet of climate-controlled interior and drive-up units. Secure Space has another facility in North Wales, which is adjacent to Blue Bell. SecureSpace is based in Redondo Beach, CA.

The Turgeon/Spain families sold a site at 2176-2180 Berlin Turnpike in Wethersfield, CT for $565,000. The buyer – BDC Holdings Inc., which is based in White Plains, NY – has plans that call for an 84,920-square-foot self-storage facility. The property is about 12 acres. Boardwalk Development Group, which is the manager for Boardwalk Storage-Sawnee LLC, closed on a self-storage facility purchase for redevelopment. The 7.5-acre site in Cumming, GA, is a non-climate-controlled facility that includes boat and RV parking. The property is on GA Highway 20 between Post Road and Bethelview Road and is near the Atlanta Polo Fields. The highway is being expanded from two lanes to six. The population in a five-mile radius is rising 5.7% annually. The company plans to subdivide the 7.5 acres into parcels of 2.5 acres and 5 acres. Marcus & Millichap announced the sale of Superior Self Storage at 1711 York Ave. in Rockford, IL. The facility has 31,210 square feet and 204 non-climate-controlled units. The asset sold for above price guidance and received multiple offers, according to Steven D. Weinstock, regional manager and senior vice president of the firm’s Chicago Oak Brook office. Sean M. Delaney, an investment specialist in that office, had the listing. The seller is an LLC, and Delaney found the buyer, also an LLC. The facility has expansion potential and sits on 10 acres.
Marcus & Millichap also brokered the sale of the Acme Self-Storage portfolio located in Morehead City, NC. The portfolio includes 1217 N. 20th St., 204 Jacob Drive and 5458 US-70, all in Morehead City. Andreas Makris, Kevin Bledsoe and Matthew Junkin, investment specialists in the company’s Philadelphia office, had the listing and also found the buyer, Freedom Storage Group. Ben Yelm, North Carolina broker of record, helped close the transaction. Combined, the facilities have 125 non-climate-controlled units and 193 climate-controlled units, totaling 46,375 NRSF. The property is 98% rented.
In addition, The LeClaire-Schlosser Group of Marcus & Millichap arranged the sale of StorQuest (managed) in Aurora, CO, a 79,605-square-foot facility. Adam Schlosser and Charles “Chico” LeClaire had the listing to market the property for the seller, a local private equity group. They also found the buyer an out-of-state firm that is new to the storage market. The facility includes one multistory climate-controlled building and 11 single-story buildings totaling 261 climate-controlled units and 353 non-climate-controlled units. The site is on the southeast side of the E-470 loop.
Marcus & Millichap sold Lake Avenue Lock-Up, a 45,250-square-foot North Shore property at 3632 Lake Ave. in Wilmette, IL. Jeffrey L. Herrmann and Sean M. Delaney had the listing to market for the seller, an LLC, and also found the buyer.

Hatcher and Nathan Coe had the listing to market the property for the seller, an out-of-state LLC. Grant Fitzgerald, Kentucky broker of record, helped close the transaction. The two facilities are within a mile of each other, about 16 miles northeast of Louisville. They have a combined 527 climate-controlled units, 28 climate-controlled units and two outdoor parking spaces, for a total of 86,370 NRSF. Both locations have traffic counts above 11,000 cars per day.
