Trojan Storage, based in Redondo Beach, CA, has proposed a massive self-storage compound with nine apartments and two storage buildings. The company wants to build 227,000 square feet of self-storage, with a separate residential component, at 7528 Bellaire Ave. in North Hollywood. One of the storage buildings would have about 89,000 square feet and three stories, with the other having 132,000 square feet and also have three stories. The entire project would sit on about 4 acres of vacant land around North Bellaire Avenue and Saticoy Street.

Laurel LLC of Boca Raton, FL won the Mount Laurel Planning Board’s preliminary and final, unanimous approval to build a three-story, 1,083-unit, 151,008-square-foot self-storage facility on 3.88 acres at Route 38 and Union Mill Road. RW Real Estate Co. LLC owns the 3018 Route 38 property. Next door is an existing self-storage business run by U-Haul Moving & Storage. The entrance and exit will be on Union Mill Road. U-Haul plans to open a six-building, 168,400-square-foot self-storage facility on an 8-ace site in Princeton, northeast of Dallas. The facility will have a four-story, 130,000-square-foot storage building; a 30,000-square-foot warehouse and 8,400 square feet of single-story, drive-up storage buildings. Owners of Spacious Storage on Ellis Street in Kelowna, British Columbia are seeking to grow. They have submitted development permit applications to the city’s planning department regarding the addition of 58 parking stalls and 22 loading spaces. Go Store It, an affiliate of Charlotte, NC-based Madison Capital Group, has broken ground on a Class A self-storage facility in Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Expected to open in fall 2024, the facility (above) will offer 1,000 climate-controlled and secure self-storage units across 109,000 square feet. The project, located at 2406 Goose Creek Bypass, is a collaboration between general contractor BenCo Construction and architect Smith Gee Studio. The new location in Franklin will be Go Store It’s 9th property in Tennessee. The company has developed and operates more than 100 projects in 15 states.

In Naples FL, Go Store It has adapted the Big Cypress Marketplace at 220 Basik Drive into 503 climate-controlled self-storage units (above). spread across 107,194 square feet. Liberty Solutions was the general contractor. The project is near Collier Seminole State Park and Publix Super Market at the Shoppes at Fiddler’s Creek. Go Store It hopes to attract customers from areas such as Marco Island, South Naples, Goodland, Lely Resort, Everglades City and more.
Joule Capital Ventures opened a new storage facility in Jacksonville, TX, on two levels, with an additional purchase of a nearby building. The main facility, Pro Storage of Jacksonville, is a climate-controlled conversion of an existing distribution center formerly owned by Stage Stores Inc. It has 125,000 square feet and 449 climate-controlled storage units. JCV’s second acquisition is a 78,000-square-foot, single-tenant building about 1.5 miles from Pro Storage. Source: Bisnow
