DXD Capital, a self-storage private-equity investor, opened a new, three-story climate-controlled facility at 895 Thornton Road in the Atlanta suburb of Lithia Springs, GA. It has 703 storage units totaling 71,335 NRSF. Public Storage manages the site (below). Valston served as general contractor and Century Bank was the construction lender. DXD purchased the property in June 2022 through its first fund, DXD Self Storage Fund 1. The company launched its second fund in June 2022 and has since invested in seven projects nationwide.

In Toms River, NJ, a self-storage facility near the eastern end of Route 37 has received the OK to grow. Extra Space Storage Inc. gained approval from the township’s planning board to expand their facility at 3200 37 West, just east of the turnoff onto Fischer Boulevard. The plan is for Extra Space to build a three-story mini warehouse building of 39,050 square feet, to be used in conjunction with the existing Extra Space Storage warehouse operation on the property. Mariana Ave. in Los Angeles, CA. The site is east of downtown Los Angeles and provides quick access to the 10, 710 and 60 freeways. The purchase of 9.89 acres at 1900 N. Beeline Highway will lead to the first U-Haul self-storage, retail and moving facility in Payson, AZ. U-Haul Moving & Storage of Payson is scheduled for completion by 2026. A three-story building will have more than 80,000 square feet spread across more than 600 indoor units.
