The Roll Up: Stuf Storage creates new storage facility in Atlanta mixed-use area

Stuf Storage has partnered with Jamestown LP to open a self-storage facility at 1170 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta’s West Midtown area. It has 100 units. The new location converts 7,000 square feet of former retail storage into tech-enabled self-storage. The storage facility is part of the Westside Provision District, a mixed-use development that has nine buildings. Jamestown LP is in partnership with Clarion Partners in owning those structures. Stuf also has locations in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Boston, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

Self-storage developer Abraham Rosenberg has a unique $7 million idea in the works: The owner of 1070 Park Estates LLC plans to put up a three-story facility plus a 20,000-square-foot homeless shelter on a 4-acre panel he owns in Peekskill, NY. The plan needs clearance from the state department of environmental conservation. Rosenberg owns Spare Cube Self Storage in Peekskill. The shelter will cost $7 million to build, and there won’t be any state or federal grants. The new project will replace the Jan Peek House at 200 N. Water.Source: The Examiner News

U-Haul purchased 4.71 acres off Interstate 75 and north of Sportsman Drive in Rossford, OH, where it will build a multistory facility with more than 700 indoor, climate-controlled self-storage rooms. U-Haul Moving & Storage of Rossford is scheduled to be completed by April 2025. Source: U-Haul

A U-Haul storage facility with 650 indoor climate-controlled units is coming to the long-vacant Rona building at 943 Barrydowne Road in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The company took occupancy of the 19.5-acre property and the 36,804-square-foot building on July 13. It had been vacant since 2018. Source: Sudbury.com

G.S. Wilcox & Co. of Morristown, NJ, garnered $10.2 million in financing for a self-storage facility in Connecticut. President Gretchen Wilcox and Principal Albert Raymond secured the financing, which has a 13-year term and five years of interest-only, then a 30-year amortization. A life insurance company provided financing for the or the Hampshire Cos. The facility has 75 climate-controlled units. Source: roi-nj.com

SecureSpace Self Storage, which is based in California, opened a new facility at 131-21 14th Ave. in the College Point area of Queens, NY. The facility has 131,691 NRSF of climate-controlled space. Source: RE Business Online 

West Coast Self-Storage Group, based in Everett, WA, opened a facility at the intersection of Paseo Del Sur and Babcock Street in the Del Sur neighborhood of San Diego, CA (below). It has 1,116 units that cover 99,400 square feet of storage space. West Coast will manage the operation. The company has 112 managed and owned locations in multiple states.

S’more Space Storage opened a climate-controlled self-storage facility at 105 W. West Penn Grant Road on PA 272, near US-222 in Pennsylvania, on Sept. 1. It has 417 storage units spread across 66,518 square feet. It also has parking spaces for RVs, campers, boats and other vehicles. A mother and her two sons own the new business.
