We encountered a problem, but Mark fixed that right away.
We had paid in advance for rental of our unit and had an appointment to pick up our keys. We were right on time, and were the only customers there, but had to wait a bit for Mark (the manager) to come out. He didn't seem very friendly the first time; neither warm, nor personable, even a bit argumentative. However, we thought that perhaps he was simply having a rough day. After we had signed the required forms, he pointed us to where our unit was, gave us the keys, and went back into his office. Upon examination of the unit, we saw a hole up in the corner of the ceiling, where sunlight was coming through. We also found a couple of cobwebs and a floor that had not been swept in a while. We had not brought any cleaning tools, so we reluctantly left our items there, locked up, and went home. The next day, we sent an email to Mark, expressing our displeasure with the unit. In less than an hour, he phoned us and told us he was terribly sorry and that he would move us to a nearby unit that he had just inspected. The following day, we went back to move our things to the second unit. This time, we took some cleaner, rags, a broom, and a dustpan. We admit that we are quite particular about a space being thoroughly clean. This second unit was in better condition, but we still spent perhaps 40 minutes bringing it up to our standards. That day, Mark behaved quite differently--very apologetic, professional, and friendly. We really appreciate that he corrected our situation quickly.
