Many Units only available 9am to 5:30pm
The location was convenient for me, and Mini U was a bit cheaper than local competitors - plus the first month is free if you have AAA. (Also 5% discount for auto-pay enrollment, and additional small discount if you already have home owners/renters insurance). However, I did not realize until moving in that most of the units (including mine) are "interior units." This means you only have access to your unit during office hours (usually ~9am-5:30pm; 2:30pm on Sundays), as you need to get the common hall key from the front desk. This is a bit inconvenient, as I was hoping to move boxes in the evenings after work. Interior units are not climate controlled (I was curious as to whether "interior unit" meant climate controlled - it does not). Also the common hallways are lit, but units are not (a battery operated camping lantern is useful). That being said, my unit is clean and dry and has very tall ceilings. The front desk guy was very nice and professional. My new-customer check in took about 15 minutes.
