difficult to access, poor conditions
Despite the instructions to present an ID to the office on arrival, there is no office onsite. I called customer service and the first person who answered had no idea what was going on and I was on hold for 10 minutes and he never came back. I called back and got another customer service representative who had to keep asking his manager for "approval" because he had to delete my original reservation and set up a new one. Meanwhile I was sitting in my car for nearly 30 minutes managing this process while wondering the whole time if I was actually going to be able to move my belongings in my car into the unit immediately or not.
Then when I was finally assigned the storage unit, there was no lock present for which I had been given a code. The unit is extremely elevated and difficult to get into and out of, no step or ladder available and extremely inconvenient, especially if unloading alone. I opened the unit and there was droppings on the floor and screeching birds. I didn't see a nest but I was wondering if there is no office on site, who is maintaining the units. The floor is very rough concrete, not amenable to sliding boxes or any items into the unit without creating damage to the bottom. This is particularly difficult given the elevation so you have to put the item on the floor, climb up into the unit and then carry it back. This process has to be done for almost EVERY SINGLE item placed into storage. Incredibly inconvenient!
I'm used to fenced in storage areas, with an onsite office, key pad entry into the lot. I don't feel safe with my belongings here, but was pretty much out of options. 3 stars is kind of generous IMO
