  Friendly, but with hidden charges

  The staff at Protection Self Storage Provo have been very friendly. Getting a unit and moving into it was pretty simple. I was surprised to see so many charges on my first receipt, however. There's an administration fee ($25), taxes ($10), and a property protection plan ($15). Only the first charge was explained when we signed up, and I do not understand why other storage units we've used in the past can operate without a separate line item for taxes or property protection but Protection Self Storage cannot.

  Brian, on behalf of the team at Protection Self Storage we thank you for you review and feedback. We are very happy to address your concerns. Regarding the fees for the administration fee and the Protection Plan. We do specify on our SpareFoot listing that there is an admin fee of $25.00 and that we require either Insurance on your unit or our Protection Plan. We also specify that we will accept your homeowners or Renters insurance policy if you would like to submit that to meet the content insurance / protection plan section in our contract. We require our tenants to obtain a third party insurance policy or our protection plan to ensure their belongings are covered in the event of obvious theft and disasters such as floods, fires, etc. Many Storage Facilities leave their customers exposed to potential loss when they do not require this. A typical general liability policy that the facility carries will not cover the Customers stored items. I know this is frustrating, but I will say it is truly worth having something in place. Like I mentioned before, we will accept your homeowners or renters policy. If you would like to get your insurance agent to send us declaration page with the following information showing proof of insurance, we would be happy to remove the $15 per month Protection Plan charge for future months. The declaration page must contain the following: 1. Protection Self Storage must be named as additionally insured. 2. The Storage Facility Address with your unit number or numbers must be added as additionally insured. 2. Proof of minimum coverage for the contents of your unit of $2000.00. 3. Your Name and address on the Declaration page must match our records. Regarding the Tax surcharge, we are one of many facilities that do this. Some facilities do not do this and some don't. I wanted to make sure you were completely informed as to all the charges you will see on your bill. they are as follows: 1. Your agreed to Rental Rate 2. Protection Plan $15 3. Tax Surcharge $10 4. Invoice / processing fee $2 While we have tried to make it clear on our listing regarding all charges, we are not perfect. We acknowledge that regardless of us posting them on the listing with SpareFoot or not, we are committed to providing you with the very best customer service possible. We will be reaching out to you in order to resolve your concerns so we can move forward in a happy situation. I am confident we can make this right. If we cant make it right, I will make an exception to our policy and refund all your money so you can find a different facility.   Everyone was nice. The place is super clean they are very flexible. The price ended up being 300 more a year than the 70 mth advertised. But they did apply the 50% discount for three months and gave me a veteranﾃ｢竄ｬ邃｢s discount. All in all Iﾃ｢竄ｬ邃｢d recommend the place
